RFR Holding is seeking chairperson certification to construct a 647,354-square-foot mixed-use building with 426 dwelling units at 175 3rd Street Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn.
Last month the developer filed a permit application for construction of a 375-unit, 647,354-square-foot mixed-use building at the site. The ULURP filing now indicates the building will have 426 dwelling units.
The property was acquired with three other properties for $115 million on April 18, 2018. The development site is located on the eastern bank of the Gowanus Canal and occupies the block bounded by Gowanus Canal to the west, the northern half of 2nd Street to the north, 3rd Avenue to the east, and 3rd Street to the south. The Project Area has a lot area of 139,865 square feet, has approximately 220 feet of shoreline, and is 635.75 feet deep.
Per the filing, the proposed building development will be a primarily residential, mixed-use tower. The Proposed Development is anticipated to have 647,354-square-feet of floor area, including 509,454-square-feet of residential space and 137,900-square-feet of commercial space. Of the 426 dwelling units, 375 will be market-rate.
